Updated with ID: Barrett teen dies in car fire

An 18-year-old man from Barrett died early Saturday, March 17, in a vehicle fire near Barrett in Grant County. A Minnesota State Patrol report identified the victim as Carter Overson. The report said a 1991 Olds Cutlass was northbound on Highway 55 and went off the road north of Barrett about 3 a.m. The underbrush and dry grasses under the vehicle caught fire and the vehicle burned. The driver did not escape and died in the vehicle.The investigation is ongoing.
