Update: Alexandria police seek tips in shooting, search is on for vehicle

Police are trying to find Jacob Nelson, 34, of Alexandria to speak with him about the incident, according to Police Chief Scott Kent.

The Alexandria Police Department is seeking tips and more information for its investigation into a shooting that took place on the 1600 block of 7th Avenue East Friday afternoon, Dec. 11.

Police responded to a report of shots fired and located a male party with gun shot wounds. The male was transported to Alomere Health for treatment of his injuries.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a black Chevrolet pickup truck with a different colored driver’s door, possibly tan or gold in color with the possible license plate MN 877PMY, according to new information released by the police department Saturday morning, Dec. 12.

Also, police are trying to find Jacob Nelson, 34, of Alexandria to speak with him about the incident, according to Police Chief Scott Kent.

There was also a report of a disturbance in the area of County Road 82 and McKay Avenue that could be related to the shooting, Kent said.

Anyone who knows where Nelson or the pickup are located, or has any information regarding either incident should contact the Alexandria Police Department at 320-763-6631.
