One of the most important things that United Way does is determine agency funding through the allocations process. Douglas and Pope County residents are invited to be a part of the allocation funding process, which will take place at various times throughout the week of April 11 to 14.

Douglas County agencies will be heard in the morning, afternoon, and evening of April 11, 12 and 14. Pope County agencies will be heard on the afternoon of April 13.

This year, United Way is entering the first year of the two-year funding cycle for programs addressing education, income and health. Volunteers will meet agency representative(s), hear agency presentation(s), and ask questions. After discussion, each panel will make a recommendation whether United Way should fund a program.

United Way is currently looking for volunteers to take part in this community process. To volunteer, call (320) 763-4840 or e-mail united-1@rea-alp.com . Prior to allocations, volunteers will receive a packet of information including date and time as well as the funding applications from the agencies they will be reviewing.
