Two people injured in motorcycle crash north of Evansville; two other crashes also reported

A motorcyle driver and his passenger were injured in a crash that occurred near Lake Christina north of Evansville on Friday, June 24, 2022.

At 4:53 the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a report of a single motorcycle crash on County Road 1 near the intersection of County Road 52 in Lund Township. Initial reports indicated the motorcycle had left the road way and the driver was seriously injured. The passenger was also believed to be injured.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the motorcyle driver, David Miller of Atwater, Minnesota, was transported by LifeLink III helicopter to an unknown medical facility. The juvenile passenger was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Alomere Health in Alexandria.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office was also assisted at the scene by Evansville First Responders and Ashby Ambulance.


Two other crashes in area involved motorcycles

Two other crashes in Otter Tail and Todd counties involving motorcycles sent four people to the hospital over the weekend.

At 12:55 p.m. Saturday, a Ford Focus and a Harley Davidson motorcycle were both traveling west on Highway 210 when they collided near Todd County Road 68.

The motorcycle driver, Ernest Kolle, 49, of Parkers Prairie, and the Ford driver, Cody Olson, 28, of Bertha, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Kolle was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital while Olson was taken to Tri County Hospital.

The Hewitt Fire Department, Todd County Sheriff's Office and Tri County Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Later on Saturday, two motorcycle riders crashed on State Highway 29, near mile marker 99 in Otter Tail County at about 4 p.m. Both riders were driving south.

A 1993 Harley Davidson Cruiser driven by Sherri Rupert, 58, of Parkers Prairie, slowed to make a right turn onto 118th Street.

A 1996 Harley Davidson Cruiser driven by Roderick Rupert, 61, of Parkers Prairie, was unable to avoid the crash and rear-ended the other motorcycle, according to the State Patrol.


Both riders were taken to Alomere Health in Alexandria with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

The Parkers Prairie Police Department and ambulance responded to the scene.
