Traveling Tree House welcomes children in Douglas County

The Traveling Treehouse provides free summer programs for ages 4-11.

The Traveling Tree House, a van equipped with free learning activities for children, is offering in-person programs this summer.

At each visit, kids experience 75 minutes of reading, crafts and activities. They get a snack and are sent home with a gently used book of their choice.

The 10-week program is designed for ages 4-11, and families can just show up. Cancellations due to weather will be posted on Facebook.

The bus stops at 10 different locations throughout Douglas County during the week. A schedule is posted at www.uwdp.org. United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties oversees the Traveling Tree House.
