Structure fire leaves two injured

A fire at a fish house north of Alexandria injured two people Friday night, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

A resident noticed a fish house on the property at at 6942 Highland Circle NW smoldering, which then was engulfed with flames. The fish house and all of its contents are a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Family members were able to remove other property away from the fire and used hoses to protect the surrounding structures.

The site of the fire is just off County Road 34 between Lake Ida and Lake Carlos.

The Alexandria Fire Department extinguished the fire, and the North Memorial Ambulance responded to assist two family members that were burned.
