ALEXANDRIA — A stay of adjudication was granted in the case of a Carlos man charged with a felony sex crime.

The sentence of Alex Harvey Zavadil, 19, of Carlos, was handed down on March 14 in Douglas County District Court. Zavadil was charged with felony criminal sexual conduct in the third degree, to which he pleaded guilty.

Because of the stay of adjudication, Zavadil's charge will be dismissed if he successfully completes probation.

Zavadil was sentenced to serve 60 days in the Douglas County Jail, with 1 day credited for time served. According to court documents, Zavadil can serve his term in any Minnesota county at his own expense, with work release as approved by the sheriff.

He must also pay $175 in assorted fines and fees.
