Starbuck man dies in two-vehicle crash near Glenwood

A Starbuck man was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Glenwood Sunday afternoon, June 28.

Josiah Wright, 18, was driving a 2007 Pontiac G6 west on County Road 18 just west of Highway 104 south of Glenwood at about 12:40 p.m. when he crossed over the center line and struck a east-bound 2019 Kenwood tractor trailer head on, according to the State Patrol.

Wright, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver of the Kenwood, Steven Nelson, 35, of Paynesville, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Paynesville Hospital, according to the State Patrol.

The Pope County Sheriff's Office also responded to the crash.
