Snow dumped another four to five inches of powdery flakes throughout the Alexandria area late Friday night and into Saturday.
Plows were hitting the streets early, piling up the snow in the middle of streets for trucks to haul away.
The snow removal process created extra work for some residents, including those on 6th Avenue East who found their sidewalks buried under not-so-fluffy snow that was put there by plows clearing the streets.
The snow was the compacted, heavy kind that took some serious shoveling or snow-blowing to remove.
According to the city street department's snow removal policy, snow may be thrown onto driveways and sidewalks during the department's snow removal process. The policy adds, "The street department works to minimize this but there is no way to remove the snow from the street and not have some of this occur."

The snow wasn't all work, however.
Kids had a good time climbing up snowy hills and sliding down them.
