It wasn’t your ordinary, average crash.
At around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, a semi driver traveling on Interstate 94 near Brandon struck a bear.
The driver told the State Patrol that the bear was crossing the freeway, going north bound, and he was unable to slow down in time to avoid the crash, which killed the bear.
The bear was removed from the roadway. No other injuries were reported.
When asked if crashes involving bears are on the rise in the region, Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow said it was “pretty rare.”
