Alexandria's Jack Schneider recently competed against 100 of the best 11 and 12-year-old alpine skiers from the upper Midwest, Colorado and New Mexico in the US Ski Association's central region Junior Olympics alpine ski races.

Alexandria's Jack Schneider, 11, competed against 100 of the best 11- and 12-year-old alpine skiers from the upper Midwest, Colorado and New Mexico in the US Ski Association's central region Junior Olympics alpine ski races at Winter Park in Colorado March 17-21. The Alexandria skier finished 37th in the super giant slalom, 43rd in the giant slalom and 55th in the slalom. Schneider qualified for the event at a competition in Marquette, Michigan, where he placed 22nd in the giant slalom and 29th in the slalom. Schneider was competing in a field of 65 11- and 12-year-olds. He attends 5thgrade at Washington Elementary School and trains at Andes Tower Hills.
