Setting up flags for 9/11 ceremony
Members of Boy Scout Troop 496 of Carlos and Miltona, along with other community members, set about 3,000 flags in place on the grassy area near 3M in Alexandria on Friday in preparation for the annual 9/11 ceremony last Sunday. The ceremony, which included area fire departments and law enforcement officers, was a tribute to the nearly 3,000 people who died in attacks on the twin towers and Pentagon and in a plane crash on Sept. 11, 2001.
