OSAKIS – The Osakis Lions Club, in partnership with Lions District 5M4, recently donated school supplies to Osakis Public School and St. Agnes Catholic School in Osakis.

The Lions have assembled these school supplies and hope that teachers and students will find them helpful over the next few months. The Lions feel the youth of the community is our future and want to assist in any way they can to support the schools and students.

Another service that the Osakis Lions provide is in-school vision screening through its KidSight Project. They screened 106 preschool through second-graders in Osakis in October of 2022.

“Thank you to the teachers and support staff for all that you do for our youth,” the Lions said in a news release. “Together we can partner to help provide for them.”

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
