Irene Mary Pfeffer, 85, Seattle, Washington, died January 3, 2008.

Irene was born November 4, 1922 in Belle River to Carl and Anna Mary (Liebel) Pfeffer. Around 1945 Irene moved to Washington to work at Boeing. She also worked at various other places, including St. Paul's Seminary. Irene was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Seattle, and was a devoted Catholic, keeping the faith all of her life.

She enjoyed bowling, and bingo at her retirement home. She had a special love for babies, birds, kitties and strolling with her sister in their flower and vegetable garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Peter, Marvin and Donald; and a sister, Florence.

She is survived by her brothers, Leverne Pfeffer (Bea) of Alexandria, Harold Pfeffer of Alexandria, Clarence Pfeffer of Ridgefield; sisters, Laura Douvier (Frank) of Seattle, Marcie Kedrowski of Seattle and Betty Freitag of Spokane; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was held January 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's with burial following at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in memory of Irene.
