The Minnesota Department of Transportation and Minnesota State Patrol are advising no unnecessary travel through the Fargo-Moorhead area.
If it is absolutely necessary to travel in the Fargo-Moorhead area, motorists should expect major delays because flooding conditions, restricted local streets and congestion.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty has declared a state of emergency for northwest and west central Minnesota along the Red River. The Red River's flood crest in Fargo-Moorhead surpassed its record of 40.1 feet overnight last night and continues to rise.
