Nineteen of 20 township elections in county postponed due to weather

All but one township in Douglas County has postponed their annual election and meeting today because of the bad weather. The LaGrand Township election is still on.

All but one township in Douglas County has postponed their annual election and meeting today because of the bad weather. The LaGrand Township election is still on.

Polls in LaGrand Township opened at noon and will remain open until 8 p.m. The annual meeting will follow. Gerhard "Gary" Thoennes has refiled for his supervisor position and is running against challenger, Greg Niblett. There is no treasurer election because it is an appointed position.

The other 19 townships in the county will hold their elections and meetings next Tuesday, March 17, as follows:

  • Alexandria Township - polls will be open from noon until 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
  • Belle River Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
  • Brandon Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
  • Carlos Township - polls will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
  • Evansville Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Holmes City Township - polls will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Hudson Township - polls will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Ida Township - polls will be open from noon to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Lake Mary Township - polls will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Leaf Valley Township - polls will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Lund Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
  • Millerville Township - polls will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow.
  • Miltona Township - polls will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Moe Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Orange Township - polls will open after the annual meeting, which is slated for 3 p.m.
  • Osakis Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with the annual meeting to follow at 8:20 p.m.
  • Solem Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Annual meeting will take place from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Spruce Hill Township - polls will be open from 1 to 8 p.m. with annual meeting to follow.
  • Urness Township - polls will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. The annual meeting will take place at 4 p.m.
