DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — The Minnesota State Patrol has announced the total traffic stops it conducted during the week of WE Fest.
In total, state troopers made 1,351 stops between Aug. 2 and 7 near the Detroit Lakes country music festival venue, according to a news release. That included six warrant arrests and five felony narcotics arrests.
Troopers issued 440 tickets and warnings for speeding, including four for drivers who were going over 100 mph. Eight drivers were written up for driving while intoxicated, and eight minors were cited for consuming alcohol.
Another 41 citations were written for driving without a valid license. Troopers also wrote 73 tickets and warnings for distracted driving.
They gave 109 tickets or warnings to drivers for not using seat belts or child restraints.
