Two Osakis students were named subsection winners, and one is advancing to state in Minnesota’s Academics, Arts and Athletics ( AAA) program in Section 6A competition.

Logan Grove and Kadyn Triebenbach are representing Osakis High School. AAA winners participate in Minnesota State High School League athletic programs and fine arts activities and must carry a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Kadyn Triebenbach, daughter of Scott Triebenbach and Shelly Engfer-Triebenbach, has a 3.94 GPA. She will move on to compete at the state level.

Triebenbach is involved with band, jazz band, choir, select choir, tennis, basketball and golf. She is also a part of student council, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Project For Teens and the high school’s leadership group.

In previous years, the leadership group would meet monthly, receive a lesson about leadership from a sports coach and go out into the community. Project For Teens is a group where eighth grade students are encouraged to remain sexually abstinent so they can succeed in high school and in life.

After she graduates with both a high school diploma and an associate degree, Triebenbach plans on attending Concordia College or St. Olaf College. She will double major in vocal music education and psychology and wants to continue being involved with band and choir while on campus.

Logan Grove, son of Vicky and Chris Grove, carries a 4.0 GPA and scored a 33 out of 36 on his ACT exam.

Grove participates in band, choir, jazz band and select choir. He’s a three-sport athlete, including cross country, wrestling and tennis. Grove is also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Project For Teens, Knowledge Bowl and the high school’s leadership group.

After graduation, Grove plans to attend Cedarville University in Ohio, pursue a doctorate degree in pharmacy, a master’s degree in business administration and a Bible minor.

Grove and Triebenbach both expressed their gratitude for the support of teachers, coaches, peers, family and friends that brought them to this point.

League officials will announce the four award recipients (a girl and a boy from both a Class "A" and Class "AA" school ) at an on-court recognition ceremony held during the Boys Basketball State Tournament in March. Each award recipient will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.
