ALEXANDRIA – This month Alexandria Community Education will offer a course on how to improve your thinking.
The author and instructor for the course is Dr. Jim Walters, a retired researcher, speaker and consultant.
The workshop will answer key questions for measuring and maintaining how one thinks by:
- Establishing a common understanding of how the brain/mind works.
- Reviewing what it is to learn.
- Providing the means to assess one’s thinking.
- Providing immediate and long-term actionable tools for optimizing thinking.
Walters said that perhaps the most important segment of the workshop is its focus on learning (session two). He said that while learning is fundamental to thinking well, current research indicates high anxiety levels may very well be due to non-learning as well.
The workshop will optimize learner’s capability for having more authentic relationships, making better decisions, likely lowering anxiety, and developing intellectual traits such as humility, courage and integrity.
The course consists of six one-hour sessions from 6 to 7 p.m. beginning Monday, May 16 and ending May 27. For registration information contact Pam Henrickson, CPP who is the adult enrichment coordinator at 320-762-3310 ext. 4229.
