Viking Bank in Alexandria to present seminar on financial fraud, elder abuse

The seminar will look into several types of scams that are carried out via telephone, banking or internet.

ALEXANDRIA โ€” Viking Bank in Alexandria will present a free Financial Fraud and Elder Abuse Community Education Seminar on Tuesday, March 28 from 9 to 11 a.m. on the bank's second floor.

Guest speakers include:
9 a.m. โ€” Deputy Adam Kavanagh, investigator with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
9:30 a.m. โ€” Joni Leuthardt, information technology security specialist at Alexandria Technical and Community College.
10 a.m. โ€” Amy Loch, adult protection worker for Douglas County Social Services.
10:30 a.m. โ€” Bryan Crary, technology support specialist for Viking Bank.
10:45 a.m. โ€” Sheri Miller, bank operations for Viking Bank.
The seminar will look into several types of scams that are carried out via telephone, banking or internet. It will include advice on internet security, mobile banking, signs of elder neglect and resources for assistance.
Attendees will gain insight on current fraudulent actives and increase their awareness on how to protect themselves, their friends and family from fraudulent activities and financial abuse.
Refreshments will be provided. This complimentary seminar is provided by the guest speakers and Viking Bank.
