ALEXANDRIA — Kori Joy will perform at the Saturday Art Market at Big Ole Central Park on June 11.

Joy is from Alexandria and is a singer, songwriter, piano instructor, jingle producer, and entertainer. She's also an Alzheimer specialist in music and art therapy.

Joy has 17 of her songs published with Morgan Music, Nashville, Tennessee. She's heard her tunes on the radio and had long-running shows at numerous locations that continue to call her back for more.

The Alexandria Art Guild, which organizeds the Saturday Art Market, says that young and old alike will be delighted by her music, whether its blues, jazz, hymns or rock.

This year's Saturday Art Market will continue through Sept. 3 and take place Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
