ALEXANDRIA — The Canadian Pacific Railroad Company will set up a road closure on 50th Ave. SE in Alexandria, starting on Monday, Aug. 15 and continuing through much of Thursday, Aug. 18 at the railroad crossing east of Fleet Farm.

There will be no traffic lanes available at this work site starting Aug. 15. Traffic will resume to normal operations by Thursday, Aug. 18 after 3 p.m.

“This road closure is necessary for us to replace the ties, rail, concrete and asphalt
aprons around and near our railroad crossing,” said CP management in a news release.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
