A two block section of Alexandria’s Broadway was the setting for a Christmas music video Monday night.
Barrett recording artist Ciara Rose Drexler organized the video-shoot for her new song, Good Life.
The city agreed to close a two-block section of Broadway, from Fifth to Seventh Avenue, to accommodate the event.
Soon after the cameras began to roll, as if on cue, a gentle snow began to fall.
Local residents and some members of the Alexandria Area High School Marching Band joined Drexler as she performed the holiday-themed song on camera under the city’s Christmas lights.
Good Life, part of Drexler’s EP titled Beautiful You, contains a message of being thankful, according to Drexler. The video, she said, will capture the winter charm of downtown Alexandria.
Hot cocoa and cider were served during the video shoot and some downtown stores remained open for people to warm up and shop during the filming.
In 2011, Drexler organized a music video shoot at Citizens Field in Alexandria for Civilian Song, which honored local service men and women for Veterans Day.
