Costs for an improvement project on Elm Street in Alexandria have been determined and a public hearing is scheduled.
Sidewalks will be improved on Elm between 11th Avenue West and 12th Avenue West at a cost of $12,895.
The city will cover half of the cost and the rest, $6,448, will be assessed against the eight benefiting property owners.
The assessments will be spread over 10 years at an interest rate of 7 percent.
A public hearing will take place to discuss the assessments at the Alexandria City Council's December 13 meeting at 7:15 p.m.
