Gymnasts fall to Willmar

The Cardinal girls' gymnastics team fell to Willmar 132.05-117.85 in Central Lakes Conference action Tuesday night.

"Last night's conference meet at Willmar brought many successes," said Cardinal coach Sue Thelen. "The girls competed hard."

On vault, Mallory Stier finished third with an 8.6, Becky Ofert was fifth with an 8.45 and Sarah Listrom sixth with an 8.3. Sarah Dolan had an 8.25 and Nikki Hammond an 8.2.

Ofert finished third on bars with a 7.6, followed by Jeannette Tram at sixth with a 6.3.

Dolan, Jamie Lorentz and Sarah Sater all competed as well.

Ofert claimed fourth place on floor with an 8.85, while Stier was sixth with a 7.8.

"Mallory threw a new half-twist in her routine," said Thelen. "It looked great and added points to her routine."

Listrom finished floor exercise with a 7.6, Dolan 7.5 and Lorentz 7.15.

On the beam, Listrom led all Cardinals with a fourth place finish with her 7.5, followed by Ofert at fifth with a 7.5 tiebreaker.

Sater was sixth, while Tram and Mariah Snyder also competed.
