The Alex gymnastics squad came up just short of Central Lakes Conference rival Sartell on Tuesday night as the Cardinals fell 131.40 to 120.15.

In the vault competition, Mallory Stier, Becky Ofert and Sarah Linstrom secured third, fourth and fifth place individual finishes, respectively.

"The Cards are very competitive with their vaulting squad and consistently have scored high in this event," head coach Sue Thelen said.

On floor, Ofert led the Cardinals with a second-place finish with a score of 8.55. Stiers was not far behind at 7.65 and a sixth place finish in the floor routine.

Jeannette Tram led Alexandria with a no-fall routine on the beam and a fourth place finish. She scored a 7.8, just ahead of Ofert who finished in fifth place at 7.55.

Ofert continued her day with a strong showing on the bars where she took home a third place finish with a score of 7.8, while Tram ended in sixth place at 7.0.
