Five injured in freeway crash near Evansville

Five people were hurt when a van lost control on an icy Interstate 94 Friday morning and rolled into the median in Evansville Township.

The crash was reported at 7:35 a.m. on April 3, at milepost 86. According to the Minnesota State Patrol:

Carrie Demarco, 38, of Villa Park, Illinois, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Carryall east on the freeway. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Four passengers also had non-life-threatening injuries: Aleksa K. Bonilla Franklin, 39, Anora Fae Bonilla Franklin, 10, and Ember Rose Bonilla Franklin, 9, all of Tacoma, Washington; and Nicholas J. Demarco, 39, of Villa Park.

Demarco was the only one of the five in the van to be transported to a health care facility. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and North Ambulance responded to the crash.
