A barn at the Tom Grundman farm in southeastern Douglas County was destroyed by fire Saturday night. Osakis and Villard firefighters responded and were on the scene until after 4 a.m.

A large barn was destroyed in a fire Saturday night in Orange Township.

According to authorities, the fire at the Tom Grundman farm was reported at 10:44 p.m. Saturday.

Osakis firefighters were dispatched to the scene where they worked to extinguish the fire in a 40-by-180-foot barn. Villard Fire Department was also called in for mutual aid.

The Grundmans reportedly used the barn to feed cattle, but no animals were in the building at the time of the fire.

Authorities said it's not clear what caused the fire and the incident remains under investigation.
