Erickson races to top honors at Little Falls Nordic ski meet

Cardinal Missy Erickson's time of 16:31 gave her a 20 second lead on runner-up Melissa Kempenich of Little Falls, giving her top honors for the second time this season, this time at the Little Falls Nordic skiing Invitational Tuesday at Camp Ripley.

The Alexandria girls' team finished fifth overall as state-ranked host Little Falls claimed top honors.

Taylor Elllison was 10th in 18:39, while Jill Rook was 35th in 20:30 and Steph Redmond was 49th in 21:52.

Leading the boys' team was Conrad Robert of Ottertail Central with a time of 14:49, while Alexandria's Drew Paradis led the Cardinals with a 10th place finish in 15:52.

Mike Flynn was 11th in 15:58, Ryan Jensen was 14th in 16:12 and Aaron Frederick was 15th in 16:22 as the top four boys finished within 30 seconds of each other.

Jeremy Rapp finished 30th in 17:01 and Mike Erickson was 49th in 18:33.

The boys' team was second overall, two points behind winner St. Cloud Tech.
