The Alexandria Education Foundation is the recipient of a $5,000 grant on behalf of the Alexandria Response Fund of the Alexandria Area Community Foundation.

AEF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will use the $5,000 grant to meet general operating costs. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted the fundraising efforts of AEF over the past year, according to the foundation. All four annual foundation events were cancelled and as a result, no incoming revenue was realized from those events.

The granting focus of the fund is to support organizations as they transition back to fulfilling their core mission.

“We are so thankful to the Alexandria Response Fund of AACF for their generous $5,000 grant to help us meet operating costs,” said Christine Reilly, foundation executive director. “Their financial support will allow us to put more dollars into teacher grants for 2021, which in turn supports the students in Alexandria Public Schools.”
