Students pursuing a career in horticulture or horticulture-related field have until Friday, April 23, to apply for a $500 scholarship from the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners of Douglas County.

Applications are open to students who are or will be attending a college or university as a full-time student. Eligible areas of study include floriculture and nursery production, plant breeding and genetics, turfgrass science, horticulture, landscaping, plant biotechnology, arboriculture, environmental studies or viticulture.

Applicants should be residents of Douglas or Pope County. Scholarships will be awarded in the spring based on scholastic success and demonstrated interest in the field of horticulture.
