A decision on where Alexandria School District offices and services will go next year will have to wait a little longer.
A special school board meeting scheduled for Monday, March 30, was cancelled on the same day Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced a stay-at-home order that is in effect for two weeks beginning Saturday, March 28.
The special meeting had been called when board members shared various concerns at a March 16 special meeting. On March 20, they split into small groups to avoid a quorum and toured two buildings being considered to house district administration and Community Education.
Those offices are currently located on the second floor of Woodland Elementary School. However, the district is looking to use that space for additional elementary classrooms in an attempt to reduce class sizes.
The school board's next scheduled meeting is Monday, April 20.
