The Early Education Center is celebrating "I Love to Read" month by hosting Storybookland Celebration on Monday, Feb. 10.

The literacy event is from 4-6 p.m. at the Early Education Center, 1410 S. McKay Ave. in Alexandria, adjacent to Woodland Elementary School.

It is free to anyone in the area with young children, and will feature activities for the entire family and favorite storybook characters in person. Those who attend are also invited to come dressed as your favorite character.

As part of the event, families can also tour the school and ask questions about early education. Preschool registration also opens that day, and families can register on site during that time.

Several early childhood resources and organizations join the staff at the Early Education Center, including Douglas County Library, Cherry Street Books and Usborne Books.
