Local horticulture students can apply for a $500 scholarship to attend a college or university full-time through Friday, April 24 from the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners of Douglas County.

Applicants should be pursuing or plan to pursue a career in horticulture or a horticulture-related career. Examples include floriculture and nursery production, plant breeding and genetics, turf grass science, landscaping, horticulture, plant biotechnology, arboriculture, environmental studies or viticulture.

An agriculture or agriculture-related career path may be considered at the discretion of the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners Scholarship Committee.

Applicants should be residents of Douglas or Pope County and the scholarship will be awarded based on scholastic success and demonstrated interest in the field of horticulture.
