The Alexandria Area High School math team finished in first place during the math league competition on Monday, Oct. 28, edging second-place Moorhead 42-36.

The team was led by Amanda Bittmann and Zander Roemer, who each earned eight of 14 possible points.

Math teams tackle problems in algebra, geometry, advanced algebra, trigonometry and pre-calculus. The next meet for Alexandria, which won the West Central Division in 2018, is Monday, Nov. 18 in Fergus Falls.
