Beginning computer users and those who want to update workplace skills can take a free Computer and Writing Skills class at Alexandria Technical and Community College this fall.

The college is teaming up with Alexandria Area Adult Basic Education through District 206 Community Education to offer the class. Early registration is recommended. Registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 27.

Classes will run Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Monday, Sept. 30 and ending Friday, Nov. 25, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in Room 707.

The class will focus on entry-level computer usage and programs, using Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016 Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It serves as preparation for the college’s Introduction to Computers class. It will cover basic writing skills and social media.
