Local horticulture students can apply for a $500 post-secondary scholarship through the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners of Douglas County. The scholarship will be awarded this spring.
Applications are open to full-time college or university students pursuing a career in horticulture or a related field such as floriculture and nursery production, plant breeding and genetics, turfgrass science, landscaping, plant biotechnology, arboriculture, environmental studies or viticulture.
Applicants should be residents of Douglas or Pope counties. Scholarships will be awarded based on scholastic success and demonstrated interest in the field of horticulture.
Deadline is Monday, April 22.
