ALEXANDRIA — Two vehicles collided north of Alexandria on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
A Paz Excavating gravel truck collided with a car on County Road 11 NW.

The Alexandria Fire Department was dispatched a little before 2 p.m.and arrived within three to six minutes. Once on scene, they had to use the Jaws of Life to help remove the driver from the gravel truck. According to the Alexandria Fire Chief Jeff Karrow, firefighters were on scene for around 15 minutes.
The driver of the truck was able to walk away from the truck with assistance and was taken to the hospital by North Memorial Ambulance for further evaluation.

"Both people are very lucky," said Karrow.

The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
Responding agencies include the Alexandria Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
