Driver and passenger injured in a one-vehicle rollover near Evansville on Saturday, Nov. 27

The rollover took place in Evansville Township around noon.

A driver and a passenger from the Twin Cities area were injured in a one-vehicle roller on Interstate 94, west of Highway 79 in Evansville Township, on Saturday, Nov. 27.

The driver Tim Lovaasen, 73, of Bloomington, was heading eastbound on I-94 with passenger Russ Lovaasen, 69, of Minneapolis, when he drove a 2012 Ford Expedition into the center median. The Expedition became airborne and rolled before coming to rest on its wheels, according to the State Patrol.

While both people in the rollover suffered injuries, Tim's are non-life-threatening, but Russ's were listed as life-threatening, according to the accident report. It's not known if they were wearing seatbelts.

The crash took place shortly after noon. It is unknown at this time if alcohol played a factor in the incident.

Responding agencies included the Douglas County Sheriff Office, Evansville Fire and First Responders, North Memorial and Ashby Ambulance.
