Douglas County township elections to be held Tuesday, March 14

Township elections will take place in all but five of the 20 townships in Douglas County.

ALEXANDRIA — Township elections will take place on Tuesday, March 14, in all but five of the 20 townships in Douglas County.

Here’s a look at which positions are open, who is running and other questions that can be found on the ballot:

Alexandria

Two supervisors: Dennis Butz and Jerry Wright, both incumbents, have refiled for three-year terms.

Polls are open from noon to 8 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Church, with the annual meeting to follow.

Belle River

One supervisor: Doug Steidl has filed for the three-year term.

Polls will be open from 5-8 p.m. at the St. Nicholas Church. The annual township meeting will start following the board of canvas at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Evansville

One supervisor: Incumbent Tony Wright has refiled for the three-year position.

Holmes City

One supervisor: Darin Weisel, incumbent, has refiled for the three-year position.

Hudson

Two supervisors: One three-year term is open, and Jeffrey Tvrdik has refiled for that position. Scott Tvrdik has filed for a one-year term. He was previously appointed to this position after the prior supervisor died.

Treasurer: Cindy Van Luik has refiled for the two-year position.

The polls are open from 4-8 p.m. at the Forada City Hall, with the annual meeting to follow.

Ida

One supervisor: Michelle Elmer has filed for the three-year position.

According to the township's website, the election will be held from 5-8 p.m. at 4700 County Rd 6 NW in Garfield, with the annual township meeting to follow.

Lake Mary

One supervisor: Incumbent James Schmidt has refiled for the three-year position.

Treasurer: Christy Tvrdik, incumbent, has refiled for the two-year position.

Polls will be open from 2-8 p.m., and the annual town meeting will be held at 8:15 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, the election and annual meeting may be postponed until Tuesday, March 21.

Leaf Valley

Two supervisors: Dale Diedrich has filed for one three-year term. Bob Hansen has filed for a one-year term to fill a vacancy.

Treasurer: Barb Guenther, incumbent, refiled for the two-year position.

Election hours are from 3-8 p.m., with the annual meeting to follow at 8:15 p.m.

Lund

One supervisor: Incumbent John Ford has refiled for the three-year position.

One treasurer: Incumbent Tracy Zickur has refiled for the two-year position.

The annual meeting will be held at 8:15 p.m.

Millerville

One supervisor: Paul Bitzan, Jr. and Michael Bramwell have filed for the three-year position.

One treasurer: Laura Piehl has filed for the two-year position.

Polls will be open from 4-8 p.m., with the annual meeting following at 8:15 p.m.

Moe

One supervisor: Lynn Bushard has refiled for the three-year position.

One treasurer: Amanda Topel has refiled for the two-year position.

Polls will be open from 5-8 p.m., with the annual meeting to follow.

Orange

One supervisor: David Boogaard refiled for the three-year position.

One Treasurer: Barb Boogaard has refiled for the three-year position.

The annual meeting will be held at 3 p.m., with the election immediately following until 8 p.m. The meeting and election will take place at the Osakis Community Center.

Solem

One supervisor: Incumbent Curtis Hamen has refiled for the three-year position.

One treasurer: Incumbent Kevin Holl has refiled for the two-year position.

Spruce Hill

One three-year supervisor position is open.

One two-year treasurer position is open.

Urness

Two supervisor positions: Incumbent Scott Hall has refiled for the three-year position, and Jerry Johnson has also filed for a vacant supervisor position.
