Academic honors

  • The following students were named to the Fall Dean's list at the University of Sioux Falls in South Dakota for achieving a GPA of at least 3.5: Brianna Holm, Jaymeson Wolkow and Nate Hammerback, all of Alexandria, and Travis Yohnke of Carlos.

Graduations

  • The following students graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato on Dec. 10. Alexandria: Carly Erickson, graduate certificates in culturally responsive teaching and llanning and students' learning; Jason Moorman, bachelor's, music industry, summa cum laude; Staci Nohl, bachelor's, recreation, parks and leisure services, summa cum laude; Addison Rodel, bachelor's, communication studies, magna cum laude; Megan Schultz, bachelor's, nursing.   • The following students graduated from North Dakota State University in summer 2022. Students who graduated with honors earned a GPA of at least 3.5. Special accomplishments

  • Alexandria resident Mya Santelman, a student at Gustavus Adolphus College, will join the Gustavus Adolphus Wind Orchestra on a 16-day tour of Europe, playing in Spain and France. The tour will last from Jan. 19-Feb. 1. The tour's final concert will be in St. Peter, Minnesota, on Feb. 18.
  • Myra Nelson and Mya Santelman, both of Alexandria, were selected to participate in the Christmas in Christ Chapel at Gustavus Adolphus College from Dec. 2-4. The production included more than 350 performers and it combined music, dance, and theatrical presentations.
