Douglas County Sheriff's Office warns of counterfeit $100 bills

According to a post on the office's Facebook page, a Douglas County bar received $500 in counterfeit $100 bills in the past week.

ALEXANDRIA — The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is warning businesses to look out for counterfeit $100 bills.

According to a post on the office's Facebook page, a Douglas County bar received $500 in counterfeit $100 bills in the past week.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone who has received similar bills in the past couple of months to call 320-762-8151.

The bills that were passed in Douglas County featured foreign markings on the back left side.

Additionally, the Liberty Bell on the front of the bills should be color shifting and visible in different colors from different angles, but was not.
