Dog obedience class starts April 23

The Lakes Area Humane Society (LAHS) will offer a basic dog obedience class starting on Tuesday, April 23. The cost is $60, and the profits will be applied toward the operating expense of the animal shelter.

The Lakes Area Humane Society (LAHS) will offer a basic dog obedience class starting on Tuesday, April 23. The cost is $60, and the profits will be applied toward the operating expense of the animal shelter.

The class will run one night per week for five weeks and will cover the basic obedience commands of heel, sit, stay, come and more.

This class is appropriate for dogs of all ages and for all dog owners, no matter what level of experience they may have.

The instructor will be Randy Buker. He has taught this class for 12 years and has a total of more than 30 years of professional dog training experience. During those years, he's either trained or helped train approximately 1,500 dogs.

Beyond the basic commands, attendees will learn how to better understand their dog's behavior.
