DFL endorses candidates in District 8; plans Meet and Greet virtual event

The DFL Senate District 8 recently endorsed three candidates: Michele Anderson for State Senate 8, Brittney Johnson for House 8A, and Carol Wenner for House 8B.

“Our Senate District is excited to have witnessed the commitment of three dedicated DFL women who are seeking office in this November’s election,” said Cornel Walker, chair of DFL Senate District 8. “They are community leaders who will promote our rural values in our state’s Legislature and work for us on critical issues of equity in education, healthcare, broadband access and environmental conservation.”

The DFL Senate District 8 Board will host a Virtual Candidate Meet and Greet on Thursday, June 18 at 7 p.m. This event will be an opportunity for people living in the district to be introduced to their local DFL-endorsed candidates, discover why they’re running and how to get involved in their campaigns. It also provides an opportunity to ask the candidates questions about their policy priorities.

Senate District 8 includes the communities and surrounding areas of Alexandria, Parkers Prairie, Fergus Falls, Pelican Rapids and Perham. To find out which House/Senate District you live in, visit
