ALEXANDRIA — Cornerstone Church, 202 7th Ave. East, Alexandria, will host a District 206 school board candidate forum on Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend.

For position 3 on the school board, candidates Lynne Lommen and Joel Novak are available to participate, according to the debate organizer, Rev. Darryl Knappen. Other candidates who filed for the position are Greg Odell and Shawn Reilly.

For position 4, Laura Knudsen is available to participate in the forum, Knappen said. Sandy Susag also filed for the position. A third candidate, Dennis Conn, will appear on the ballot but has dropped out of the race.

The format, Knappen said, will be the same as last year when the candidates submitted questions they would like to be asked of themselves and asked of the other candidates.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
