The Echo Press has received the following update about a local volunteer effort to provide help for fighting the flood in Fargo-Moorhead:

Tastefully Simple and the Alexandria Blizzard would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire Alexandria community.

Thanks to an outpouring of response in the Douglas County area, the businesses were able to send four buses with nearly 200 volunteers to help with flood relief in Fargo-Moorhead on Tuesday, March 24.

If you'd still like to volunteer to assist those in the Fargo-Moorhead area, contact First-Link at 701-476-4000.

The Echo Press has also learned that the Alexandria Technical College is also helping with the flood relief. It is sending four School District 206 buses filled with more than 200 students to the flood-threatened areas. The students are leaving at 6 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, and plan to return by 8 p.m.
