It was another match decided by criteria Tuesday night, this time between Osakis and Wheaton-Herman-Norcross at the WHN triangular.

The tiebreaker again came down to the sixth criteria (the team having the greatest number of first match points scored), giving the Silverstreaks the 40-39 win.

A point is added to the winning team's score after the tiebreaker is determined.

Last week it was the Alexandria-Minnewaska match that came down to criteria to decide the match, the sixth criteria to be exact, giving Alexandria the win.

The Silverstreaks took split their matches in the triangular, with Clinton Wiener's 100th career victory taking the sting out of Osakis' 50-13 loss to fourth-ranked Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.

Osakis' Cody Torkelson recorded the first varsity victory of his career with a major decision against ACGC's Josh Pearson.

"Tonight the Silverstreaks did not rise to the challenge that the ACGC Falcons presented," said Osakis head coach Brad Hoffarth. "The team gave up too many bonus points.

"This trend continued against WHN when the team allowed 39 points and had to depend on the sixth criteria to determine the winner of the dual. The Silverstreaks won by recorded the most match points scored first throughout the dual.

"The team has been wrestling well up until tonight," he said. "The entire squad now needs to get back to the basics that have led to earlier individual and team success."

Osakis is now 12-3 overall and 4-1 in conference action.
