CARLOS — A Carlos woman suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Highway 29 near Carlos Corners early Saturday morning.

The crash was reported at 1:29 a.m near the intersection of Highway 29 and County Road 13, about a mile west of Carlos.

Jodie Mae Tatro, 37, was driving a 2011 Chevy Tahoe north on Highway 29 when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the northbound ditch, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Tatro, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Alomere Health in Alexandria with life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, the report said.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Carlos Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance responded to the crash.

Road conditions were wet at that time, according to the crash report.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
