A pair of 1-2 finishes down the stretch by the Cardinal swimming and diving team helped seal their 98.5-87.5 victory over Sartell Tuesday night.

The win gives Alexandria a perfect 4-0 mark in Central Lakes Conference competition and a 5-1 record overall.

"There were five races that were determined by just fractions of a second," said Alexandria head coach Mark Storhaug. "The Cards were lucky enough to come out winning three of those. Had things gone south on all five, the Sabres would have won the meet by a margin similar to ours."

Ben Vogeler won a pair of races to lead the point scoring for Alexandria.

Vogeler won the 200 free in 1:58.64 and the 100 free in 53.11.

Overall, the Redbirds picked up seven wins in the 12 events.
