The Cardinals' dance team was narrowly defeated by St. Cloud Apollo in a dual meet during the halftime of the boys basketball game last Thursday in St. Cloud.

Alexandria was coming off a third place performance in high kick at the Alexandria Invitational on January 5, but Apollo edged out the Cardinals with 132 points to Alexandria's 124.

"The scores were a bit of a disappointment compared to the scores that they received last Saturday at their invitational," coach Christine Reilly said. "The team was missing two dancers due to recent injuries and this greatly affected their formations and overall routine."

The team hopes to readjust and be ready to face Fergus Falls this Friday.
